練習(xí)托福閱讀為什么要使用ETS官方材料（下）?

1.According to paragraph 1, beforeA.D.900, books in the Islamic world

相信這道題目并不是很難的一道題目，各位看官也肯定有輕易拿下的。但是，做錯(cuò)的一定不在少數(shù)。各位選哪個(gè)選項(xiàng)呢?沒(méi)錯(cuò)，答案是D。

那做錯(cuò)的同學(xué)且聽我說(shuō)。

首先，從題干下手，大多數(shù)娃娃看到這個(gè)題干，都會(huì)對(duì)A.D. 900有深刻的意識(shí)，所以習(xí)慣性的去定位到文章的首句“The arts of the Islamic[伊斯蘭] book, such as calligraphy[書法]and decorative drawing,developedduring A.D. 900 to1500, andluxury books aresome of the most characteristicexamples of Islamic art producedinthis period.”。那此時(shí)就犯下了第一個(gè)錯(cuò)誤：機(jī)械的摘取識(shí)別度高的數(shù)字或字母來(lái)定位而不加思考。其實(shí)，A.D. 900并不重要;ETS考點(diǎn)在于before，這詞就是思考點(diǎn)!你要開始問(wèn)自己，這個(gè)“before…”的重要時(shí)間段里，書籍真正發(fā)生了什么。

那然我們看到答案點(diǎn)：This cameabout from two major developments:paper became common, replacingparchment[羊皮紙]asthe major medium for writing, androunded scripts were regularized andperfected so that they replaced theangular scripts of the previous period,which because of their angularity wereuneven inheight.這句話中有重要的時(shí)間邏輯就是“thepreviousperiod”，這個(gè)時(shí)間才是真正跟題干中“before..”相迎合的考察點(diǎn)。

那答案顯而易見：rounded scripts 取代了angular scripts.所以C排除。而B選項(xiàng)的考點(diǎn)更加明確，即原文中的BeforeA.D.900, manuscripts ofthe Koran[可蘭經(jīng)] (the book containing the teachings ofthe Islamicreligion) seem to havebeen the most common type of book producedand decorated…所以B排除。而繼續(xù)向后看文章的過(guò)程中，你就又會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)一個(gè)時(shí)間邏輯：… but afterthatdate a wide range of bookswereproducedfor a broad spectrum of patrons[贊助人]顯然是after..與題干before相反，排除A。

因此，你會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)，閱讀過(guò)程中，如何對(duì)這么多細(xì)節(jié)信息進(jìn)行處理和篩選，那就必須要求我們對(duì)題干想讓我們思考的東西提高敏感度。而此題，時(shí)間邏輯beforepreviousafter…就是我們需要在掃文章的過(guò)程中去思考的方向。

不知通過(guò)以上講解，您是否感受到ets對(duì)于閱讀的考試要求是什么;那絕不是機(jī)械的數(shù)字定位。這類時(shí)間邏輯的理解考查在TPO閱讀中不勝枚舉。而這些細(xì)枝末節(jié)的閱讀訓(xùn)練一定是最符合ETS考查方向的，或許這樣，你就能感受到為什么TPO/OG才是我們一直強(qiáng)調(diào)的備考材料。

能力培養(yǎng)：

閱讀能力的培養(yǎng)和訓(xùn)練當(dāng)然不是只有官方內(nèi)容才能做到，任何優(yōu)質(zhì)的英文學(xué)習(xí)資源都可以成為我們提高英語(yǔ)能力的助手。

但是，畢竟這是一場(chǎng)有時(shí)間限制的考試，根據(jù)“狹窄輸入”的原理，如果你的英語(yǔ)能力可以接受老托/OG/TPO的挑戰(zhàn)的話，官方內(nèi)容的透徹理解和把握能讓我們?cè)谔岣吣芰e同時(shí)快速了解考查方向和目標(biāo)，事半功倍，何樂(lè)而不為呢?
