美國名校電影專業(yè)申請方案全解析

所謂電影學(xué)院就是指專門為電影理論研究、電影制作以及電影輔助職業(yè)提供教育和實(shí)踐的學(xué)術(shù)機(jī)構(gòu)。純正的電影學(xué)院多為學(xué)科齊全，分類明細(xì)并且有著廣泛的職業(yè)發(fā)展方向。

而按照世界范圍內(nèi)的學(xué)術(shù)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)差異，一般大部分本科階段學(xué)校多提供BA(文學(xué)士學(xué)位))，少部分職業(yè)和藝術(shù)學(xué)院提供BFA(藝術(shù)學(xué)士學(xué)位)，個(gè)別藝術(shù)學(xué)院的設(shè)計(jì)專業(yè)和數(shù)字媒體提供的是BS(理學(xué)士專業(yè))。研究生階段分MA和MFA兩個(gè)方向，一般MA多為1年到兩年的Film studies(電影學(xué))方向，主要學(xué)習(xí)和研究電影理論知識(shí)。而提供MFA專業(yè)的多為 MFA film production(電影制作)，此學(xué)位主要從事電影制作、寫作、導(dǎo)演和后期工作。美國目前為止只有極個(gè)別的學(xué)校開設(shè)的研究生方向有MFA Directing，大部分多為production。

開設(shè)Ph.D (博士)的學(xué)校很少，因?yàn)槊绹碾娪皩W(xué)博士研究多集中在威斯康星麥迪遜大學(xué)(UW-Madison)，哥倫比亞大學(xué)(Columbia University)以及德克薩斯大學(xué)奧斯汀分校(UT-Austin)，當(dāng)然類似UCLA、USC、NYU這三個(gè)主力大學(xué)也是高級電影理論培訓(xùn)的主力軍。

Admission to the Tisch School of the Arts is highly selective. We carefully evaluate each applicant based on a number of factors: academic record, standardized test scores, creative materials, recommendations, extracurricular involvement and an essay. In addition, an artistic review is required for admission to all Tisch programs. Each department has its own specifications for review.

Competitive applicants to the Tisch School of the Arts have done well academically, in addition to demonstrating potential in his/her chosen field. Also, participation in meaningful school and community activities is an important factor, and given the University's unique offerings and its urban environment, we look for evidence of character and maturity in potential students. Every applicant will be taken into account individually and given fullest consideration.

2.南加州大學(xué)University of Southern California(全美電影藝術(shù)類排名第2位)

南加州大學(xué)(縮寫USC )，簡稱南加大，位于加州洛杉磯市中心，由監(jiān)理會(huì)于1880年創(chuàng)立，是加州最古老的私立研究型大學(xué)。

The Bachelor of Arts in Cinematic Arts with a track in production is granted through the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences in conjunction with the School of Cinematic Arts. Students study within a framework which combines a broad liberal arts background with specialization in a profession. Bachelor of Arts students are enrolled in the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences, where they take their pre-professional courses, including the general education requirements. Major courses are selected from the curriculum of the School of Cinematic Arts. The degree requires 128 units including 20 lower-division units and 24 upper-division units in Cinematic Arts. A maximum of 40 School of Cinematic Arts upper-division units will apply to the B.A. degree.

The primary goals of the degree programs in film and television production are to develop the student's ability to express original ideas on film or video and to instill a thorough understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of motion pictures and television. Courses in production provide individual and group filmmaking experiences and the opportunity to learn all aspects of filmmaking in a collaborative environment.

4. 哥倫比亞大學(xué)Columbia University(全美電影藝術(shù)類排名第7位)

哥倫比亞大學(xué)位于美國紐約市曼哈頓，于1754年根據(jù)英國國王喬治二世頒布的《國王憲章》而成立，命名為國王學(xué)院，是美洲大陸最古老的學(xué)院之一。美國獨(dú)立戰(zhàn)爭后為紀(jì)念發(fā)現(xiàn)美洲大陸的哥倫布而更名為哥倫比亞學(xué)院，1896年成為哥倫比亞大學(xué);它屬于私立的常春藤盟校，由三個(gè)本科生院和十三個(gè)研究生院構(gòu)成。

The major in film studies is scholarly, international in scope, and writing-intensive. Students choose to major in film if they want to learn more about the art form, from technology to cultural significance; want to work in the film industry; or are interested in a major that combines arts and humanities. Students usually declare the major toward the end of the second year by meeting with the departmental adviser; together, they create a program of twelve required courses within the major, supplemented by three related courses outside the department. In the lecture courses and seminars, there is often a mixed population of undergraduate majors and graduate film students.

The Undergraduate Film Program leading to the B.S. Degree in Film and Television, provides a comprehensive exploration of film while ensuring that students receive a strong liberal arts education. The program focuses on three critical areas: film studies, screenwriting, and film production. Students study the works of master filmmakers to learn from those who came before them, practice the art of storytelling through their screenwriting courses and apply what they have learned in their film production courses.

電影本科課程在為學(xué)生提供關(guān)于電影方面全面的認(rèn)知的同時(shí)，也使學(xué)生擁有強(qiáng)大的文學(xué)教育背景。這一課程側(cè)重于三個(gè)領(lǐng)域：電影研究、編劇及電影制作。學(xué)生通過學(xué)習(xí)電影大師的作品來了解電影，通過他們的編劇課程來練習(xí)說有事的藝術(shù)，并將他們在電影制作課上學(xué)到的內(nèi)容應(yīng)用于其中。

Although students are required to select an area of concentration in either the Film or the Television Program during the second semester of the sophomore year, they also have options for tailoring a major that fits their individual interests and career goals. Film students may take additional hands-on production, screenwriting or critical studies courses beyond the required minimum, as well as take electives from Television and the rest of the university.

盡管學(xué)校要求學(xué)生在第二年的時(shí)候選擇電影或電視專業(yè)其中一個(gè)專業(yè)領(lǐng)域來集中精力學(xué)習(xí)，但是他們?nèi)杂袡C(jī)會(huì)去選擇一個(gè)他們感興趣的課題。
