美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬母校：社區(qū)大學西方學院

美國的社區(qū)學院是在美國的州或市用州民或市民的稅金來運營的兩年制短期大學，提供希望去插讀四年制的大學或職業(yè)培訓課程后直接就業(yè)的教育。相當于中國的大專。但是社區(qū)大學卻是美國教育體系的重要組成部分。

美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬曾經(jīng)就讀加州西方學院兩年，然后轉(zhuǎn)入哥倫比亞大學，獲得文學學士學位，之后又獲得哈佛大學法學院碩士學位。社區(qū)學院就是美國人不拘陳規(guī)，開創(chuàng)性地創(chuàng)造出來的高等教育發(fā)展模式。美國總統(tǒng)克林頓說：“社區(qū)學院是美國的最佳特色”。

奧巴馬的母校有3個，分別是：

哈佛大學(Harvard University)

哥倫比亞大學(Columbia University)

西方學院(Occidental College)

高中畢業(yè)后，奧巴馬在加州西方學院(Occidental College)求學兩年，然后轉(zhuǎn)入哥倫比亞大學，在1983年獲得文學學士學位，1988年進入哈佛大學法學院之后獲得法學院碩士學位。

奧巴馬曾就讀的西方學院是一所位于美國加利福尼亞州洛杉磯市的一所小型文科院校。西方學院于1887年成立,共計1850名學生，平均每班共計21名學生，學生與教職人員的比例為10：1。學院高標準以及極富創(chuàng)新力的學習項目曾在美國《新聞周刊》、《華盛頓郵報》以及《時代周刊》上受過稱贊。

因為當年入學門檻極高，因此學校學生大部分為白人。造成當?shù)鼐用穹Q西方學院為 “白色城堡”。當中還有另外兩個原因，第一是因為西方學院的校園景觀設計頗負盛名，第二是因為當?shù)鼐用翊蟛糠址前兹恕?/span>

西方學院OccidentalCollege有一座甚至在電影里出現(xiàn)過的標志性建筑(雖然我覺得大多數(shù)人都沒有看過那部電影)。那氣場十足的噴泉背后的故事則更加引人入勝。OccidentalCollege有個叫做“BirthdayDunk”的傳統(tǒng)。在你的生日那天，你的死黨們會想辦法讓你和噴泉來次親密接觸：他們也許會在深夜里當你迷迷糊糊的時候突然將你拉下床;他們亦有可能中途打斷你的某節(jié)課，給你來個噴泉浴提提神，天曉得將會發(fā)生什么，你唯一可以確定去做的是，最好在生日那天身上裹條浴巾。
