2012年2月7日，教育部教育涉外監(jiān)管信息網(wǎng)再次更新認(rèn)可留學(xué)國(guó)家院校名單，目前為第二十三版，此次主要更新了美國(guó)等國(guó)家的學(xué)校名單。教育部通過教育部教育涉外監(jiān)管信息網(wǎng)(www.jsj.edu.cn)和中國(guó)留學(xué)網(wǎng)(www.cscse.edu.cn)公布了我國(guó)公民主要留學(xué)的33個(gè)國(guó)家1萬多所學(xué)校名單，基本涵蓋了各國(guó)的正規(guī)高等學(xué)校。今后，所公布名單會(huì)根據(jù)有關(guān)情況定期調(diào)整，為幫助自費(fèi)出國(guó)留學(xué)人員正確選擇國(guó)外學(xué)習(xí)學(xué)校，加強(qiáng)對(duì)自費(fèi)留學(xué)中介活動(dòng)的監(jiān)管，引導(dǎo)自費(fèi)留學(xué)中介機(jī)構(gòu)與國(guó)外正規(guī)學(xué)校開展合作。

據(jù)了解，美國(guó)高等院校包括公立與私立兩種，主要實(shí)行二年學(xué)制或四年學(xué)制。二年制的多為技術(shù)?？茖W(xué)校和社區(qū)學(xué)院。目前美國(guó)各類高等院校有3600多所。美國(guó)高等院校的質(zhì)量認(rèn)證一般由專業(yè)認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)負(fù)責(zé)，經(jīng)美國(guó)教育部認(rèn)可的認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)主要有六大區(qū)域認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)及近百個(gè)專業(yè)認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)。聯(lián)邦政府通過認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)間接起到對(duì)各院校的管理與規(guī)范。全美高等教育認(rèn)證委員會(huì)（CHEA）是協(xié)調(diào)并審核認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)的專業(yè)機(jī)構(gòu)。 通過區(qū)域性認(rèn)證協(xié)會(huì)或其它專業(yè)認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)的認(rèn)證，各院校可實(shí)現(xiàn)學(xué)分相互轉(zhuǎn)換，所頒發(fā)的學(xué)位證書或文憑證書能獲得社會(huì)的廣泛認(rèn)可。
