　　普林斯頓大學(xué)招生辦主任Janet Lavin Rapelye說(shuō)：『我們希望在essay里看到的是我們的申請(qǐng)人掌控英語(yǔ)，而不是簡(jiǎn)單地使用英語(yǔ)，不管英語(yǔ)是否是他/她的第一語(yǔ)言，從他/她的文章中我們想要看到他/她一定的英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的知識(shí)積累，更重要的是他/她對(duì)于這些知識(shí)的辯證性見解，因此我們建議我們的申請(qǐng)人辯證性的、多樣性的閱讀。』

 

 

　　英文閱讀很重要，有助于新SAT考高分，有助于寫申請(qǐng)文書，有助于上美國(guó)大學(xué)后寫論文。

　　以新SAT為例，新SAT閱讀的考試時(shí)間為65分鐘，共有52道選擇題，需要閱讀4篇獨(dú)立文章和1篇雙對(duì)比文章。考生若希望考出滿意的分?jǐn)?shù)，必須扎扎實(shí)實(shí)的閱讀至少10本以上的SAT考試官方羅列的小說(shuō)，以增加對(duì)美國(guó)社會(huì)和文化的深入理解。
