這63本書(shū)組成《美國(guó)高中英語(yǔ)文學(xué)核心讀物》，并按照閱讀的難易程度(文字本身的難度和理解的難度)分成入門(mén)級(jí)(相當(dāng)于九年級(jí))、初級(jí)(十年級(jí))、中級(jí)(十一年級(jí))、高級(jí)(十二年級(jí))分成四個(gè)等級(jí)，每個(gè)等級(jí)里面再分成Classics、British Literature、 American Literature、International Literature四個(gè)類(lèi)別，每個(gè)類(lèi)別里都盡量含有各種文體(戲劇小說(shuō)詩(shī)歌等)?？梢灾苯影凑兆约旱拈喿x水平選擇適合自己的讀物。
