　　金融工程碩士名稱上可以叫做:Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Finance或者Computational Finance等。不過(guò)所學(xué)習(xí)課程和培養(yǎng)的方向基本相同，下面，我們統(tǒng)稱為金融工程。

　　由于金融工程的課程橫跨了金融經(jīng)濟(jì)，數(shù)學(xué)，工程幾個(gè)方面的知識(shí)，通常由大學(xué)的商學(xué)院、數(shù)學(xué)系和工程學(xué)院聯(lián)合授課。目的在于解決實(shí)際中的問(wèn)題，金融工程開(kāi)設(shè)的program絕大部分為應(yīng)用型的碩士學(xué)制。應(yīng)用型預(yù)示著它的課程以授課形式為主，倡導(dǎo)學(xué)生實(shí)踐，時(shí)間在一到兩年。

　　金融與金融工程區(qū)別

　　金融工程是高級(jí)的金融理論和知識(shí)，因此金融工程隸屬于金融學(xué)。

　　從培養(yǎng)的目的來(lái)看

　　金融學(xué)碩士著重培養(yǎng)具有處理銀行、證券、投資等方面業(yè)務(wù)的基本能力;熟悉國(guó)家有關(guān)金融的方針政策和法規(guī)，了解本學(xué)科的理論前沿和發(fā)展動(dòng)態(tài)的管理人員。而金融工程則培養(yǎng)具有數(shù)學(xué)，計(jì)算機(jī)和現(xiàn)代金融理論的技術(shù)人才。

　　從學(xué)習(xí)的對(duì)象來(lái)看

　　金融學(xué)更多的是以基礎(chǔ)變量如利率\匯率\貨幣供應(yīng)為學(xué)習(xí)對(duì)象，而金融工程主要依賴金融衍生工具,比如期貨期權(quán)\遠(yuǎn)期\互換等等。

　　就業(yè)方向

　　金融工程碩士主要在投資銀行工作，另外商業(yè)銀行、基金公司、保險(xiǎn)公司、會(huì)計(jì)公司、軟件公司、公司財(cái)務(wù)部門也是金融工程碩士謀職的地方?，F(xiàn)在越來(lái)越多的政府管理部門(如財(cái)政部門)、能源公司(項(xiàng)目評(píng)估、項(xiàng)目分析)也參與到了爭(zhēng)奪金融工程碩士的行列中。

　　金融工程申請(qǐng)要求

　　1、專業(yè)背景及先修課要求

　　專業(yè)背景有較為明確的要求:數(shù)學(xué)、統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)、CS、物理、工程、科學(xué)是最普遍的專業(yè)背景要求，除此之后不少學(xué)校也接受金融、經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、精算學(xué)、生物、化學(xué)和會(huì)計(jì)分析專業(yè)背景，但有個(gè)別學(xué)校不接受會(huì)計(jì)專業(yè)背景的申請(qǐng)者，如曼大的MSc Quantitative Finance: Risk Management和MSc Quantitative Finance: Financial Engineering。

　　先修課要求:最常見(jiàn)的有微積分、線性代數(shù)、概率論、概率統(tǒng)計(jì)、常/偏微積分方程、矩陣代數(shù)、數(shù)量統(tǒng)計(jì)等。個(gè)別學(xué)校還要求學(xué)生有良好的算法、編程、C++、JAVA、Matlab基礎(chǔ)和計(jì)算機(jī)分析能力，如UCL的MS Financial Risk Management。

　　所以，大家在判斷自身是否能夠申請(qǐng)金融工程，或者判斷申請(qǐng)成功率時(shí)，以往修過(guò)的數(shù)理課程和計(jì)算機(jī)課程的數(shù)量是一個(gè)非常重要的參考標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

　　2、GMAT/GRE

　　美國(guó)要求提交GMAT/GRE;英國(guó)和香港的學(xué)校金工專業(yè)基本上都不要求GMAT/GRE成績(jī)，但個(gè)別學(xué)校會(huì)建議;新加坡地區(qū)，除了國(guó)立大學(xué)的Quantitative Finance 項(xiàng)目外，其他要求提供GMAT/GRE成績(jī)。

　　一般情況下，建議考取GRE，并以320+為目標(biāo)。

　　3、語(yǔ)言成績(jī)

　　英、港、新三個(gè)地區(qū)的學(xué)校建議考取雅思成績(jī)，美加地區(qū)建議考取托福成績(jī)，另外，香港方面需要注意的是，港理工和城大還接受大學(xué)英語(yǔ)六級(jí)成績(jī)。

　　雅思以7.0+，托福以100+為目標(biāo)。

　　4、GPA

　　GPA是一個(gè)非常重要的指標(biāo)，特別是英國(guó)地區(qū)，基本上，除了個(gè)別Times排名靠前的院校外，211和985院校的學(xué)生的GPA要不低于80%，非211非985的院校的學(xué)生的GPA要不低于85%。Times排名較后的學(xué)校GPA要求稍微放寬，但總的來(lái)說(shuō)GPA越高越好。

　　其他地區(qū)一般以3.0/80為最低要求。當(dāng)然，也有個(gè)別低于3.0的也能拿到錄取，這就要靠其他方面來(lái)彌補(bǔ)。

　　GPA最低3.0/80，越高越好。

　　5、實(shí)習(xí)工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)要求

　　絕大多數(shù)學(xué)校不要求應(yīng)屆生有相關(guān)工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)，但如果有相關(guān)工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)則能為你的申請(qǐng)加分。
